Service and Commitment to Community and Country

David Cerullo is a member of the National Cable Television Association, the Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing, and the National Association of Television Program Executives. He also served on the board of the National Religious Broadcasters Association for over ten years. He has recruited a team of experienced, respected cable industry executives and encouraged their involvement in trade organizations. At his direction, the organization’s leaders have been actively involved in state and regional trade organizations, ACA, NCTC, and have served on boards of many trade organizations. Presently he serves on the NCTA’s Programming Committee.

Under his leadership, The Inspiration Networks has been active in the greater Charlotte community. Cerullo has encouraged staff involvement in the local community and schools. Inspiration employees are serving as buddies/mentors to Indian Land Elementary School students and the organization donates its auditorium (free of charge) for local high school and middle school concerts. Many community activities have been held (at no charge) in the company’s auditorium (including town hall meetings by local civic groups). The organization has hosted community blood drives and, in September 2012, the county-wide “Indian Land Fall Festival.” For three years, it has donated land to local youth leagues for use as soccer fields.

The Inspiration Networks won the Fit Friendly Gold Award from the American Heart Association (AHA), for its support of a healthy lifestyle (for the staff and community). It also sponsors the AHA’s Heart Walk. The organization collected the equivalent of 400 bags of groceries in one week in 2012 for HOPE in Lancaster to help struggling families make ends meet.

Under his direction, the organization has become active in support of veterans. One of Cerullo’s initiatives was the creation and development of INSP’s “Moments” campaign, which debuted in 2012. These short, inspiring ‘programs’ include a series of spots honoring veterans. Earlier in 2012, the organization produced “Thank You for Your Service,” particularly honoring veterans who have served in the past (and who often have been overlooked and felt taken for granted). The spot generated enthusiastic support from military and veteran’s organizations. The U.S. Department of Defense featured this spot on their Vietnam Commemoration website. It was featured at the 2012 American Legion national convention with 10,000 attendees and at the USAA Veteran’s Day ceremony in San Antonio, TX. INSP is in production on a new series, “Moments of Valor,” a joint partnership with the Medal of Honor Foundation. In addition to being featured on INSP, the production has been showcased on the nationally syndicated daytime program The View.

Inspired by Cerullo’s growing commitment to patriotism and saluting the American spirit, the staff of The Inspiration Networks recently sent 409 “care” packages to soldiers in Afghanistan, Kuwait and Qatar.
